Two into one

PLAYWRIGHT: RAY COONEY

DIRECTOR: THYS HEYDENRYCH

VENUE:  WYNAND MOUTON THEATRE

LANGUAGE: ENGLISH

Two Into One focuses on the infidelity of Richard Willey, a Minister of Parliament. On the day of voting on a bill that would outlaw pornography, everyone in Parliament is on their best behaviour - that is everyone except Mr Willey. While his colleagues prepare to debate, Willey is attempting to bed the Premier’s secretary in a Cape Town hotel, while his wife is seeing the matinée of Rocky Horror Picture Show. The only thing his personal private secretary George Pidgen has to do is book a hotel room for Willey to meet Jennifer. In typical Ray Cooney style the awkward George makes a series of disastrous mistakes. Throw in a brusque hotel manager, a member of the opposition party and an extremely nosey Afrikaans waiter, and extreme complications ensue in the two adjoining suites. The British play is given a South African flavour and some of our most prominent government officials get proper mentioning.

This hilarious Ray Cooney comedy will be performed by final year drama students of the Free State University in the Wynand Mouton Theatre. Directed by Thys Heydenrych.
