George Foster, a PhD student at the Odeion School of Music, presents one of his doctoral examination recitals. He will be accompanied by Eljee du Plooy (organ) and Lesley-Ann Mathews (piano).

In its final performance of 2009, the Odeion String Quartet is proud to introduce the Junior Odeion String Quartet with Carmi Nel (violin), Regomodicoe Molosioa (violin), Elsabe Raath (viola) and John Minnaar (cello). They will be playing the 1st movement of Haydn"s Quartet "The Lark". Also on the programme is Dvorak"s Piano Quintet. Catherine Foxcroft, head of piano studies at Rhodes University will be joining the Quartet for a performance of this work.
In keeping with the celebrations of Mendelssohn’s 200th anniversary, the Quartet will also perform his Quartet in E minor Opus 44 no 2.
