MAS-

Bring your research into a long-term regional framework

MaS-LTSER welcomes researchers, students, institutions, communities and practitioners interested in the northern Maloti-Drakensberg. The platform is not a membership organisation and does not charge a joining fee. Its purpose is to promote collaboration, coordinate long-term observations and increase the value of research conducted in the region.

Researchers planning a new study, operating an existing monitoring site or wishing to contribute information are invited to contact the platform. Early coordination can help identify potential collaborators, existing datasets, shared methods, field facilities and opportunities to connect a project with long-term monitoring.

When contacting us, please include

  • your name, institution and contact details;
  • the proposed project title and a short summary;
  • the intended research location and anticipated fieldwork period;
  • the facilities, data or collaboration required; and
  • the anticipated outputs and arrangements for registering relevant project information or datasets.
