Eminent visitor and program


2010 is a very special year for CATSA, since we celebrate the 'coming of age' with our 21st birthday. Prof. Cyril O'Connor from UCT Engineering will have a special slot to tell us more about how it all started.

The scientific program will consist of lectures by a number of overseas and local speakers, from Monday, 8 November until noon on Wednesday, 10 November.

The social program includes the usual (i) PORETECH challenge between Engineers and Chemists, (ii) the opening mixer on Sunday evening, 7 November and (iii) the 'banquet' on Tuesday evening, 9 November; in typical Free State tradition...

We are especially proud to announce that Prof. Bruce Gates from the University of California (Davis) is our eminent visitor for CATSA2010. Apart from sharing his expertise at the meeting with us in a Plenary Lecture, he will also visit a few universities the week or so before to engage with students and supervisors in serious and not so serious discussions.
