Commerce Education relates to Economics and Management Science subjects such as Accounting, Business Studies, and Economics. A team of three lecturers who operate within the School of Social Science and Language Education drives this discipline.

Dr Molaodi David Tshelane – (Based at our Bloemfontein Campus) – is the discipline coordinator and his current research includes sustainable curriculum practice, school leadership, the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for professional curriculum practice and creating a decolonised sustainable learning environment.
Dr Makeresemese Rosy Qhosola is also based at our Bloemfontein Campus, and her research interest is in Critical Accounting and the decolonisation of the curriculum for sustainable learning environments.
Mr Habasisa Vincent
Molise is based at our Qwaqwa Campus, and his research interest involves narratives of accounting teachers on the use of ICTs to enhance academic performance in rural learning ecologies. He uses participatory action research (PAR) as a catalyst to explore the challenges fronting learner academic performance in economics.
Economic and Management Sciences are offered in the Intermediate and Senior Phases as well as at FET level.
The subject of teaching of Accounting, Business Studies and Economics is offered to BEd and PGCE students.
