Project description

The project uses two universities as case studies, one urban and one rural, emphasizing empirical, methodological, and theoretical aspects. Focusing on African international students, the project extends current research on student migration (within Africa) and the internationalization of higher education. Interviews, focus groups, and a participatory video are used to explore digital (in)equalities. The capability approach is used to analyze the intersections between migration, higher education, technology, and sustainability. Ultimately, it is expected that the findings will contribute to Sustainable Development Goals 4 - Quality education - and 9 - Resilient and inclusive technology infrastructure - related to higher education beyond 2030.
