Project Summary

The projects’ aim was to share, reflect on, and embed findings from Changing the Story (CTS) projects in Zimbabwe and South Africa; and to establish and strengthen regional channels of engagement between youth, CSOs, NGOs, and other stakeholders connecting and consolidating lessons learned. The lessons provided ideas for sustainable and inclusive development with and for young people. The project also reflected on the impact of CTS projects; provided evidence on the effects of such collaborations and argued for youth-led engagement and partnership that goes beyond these organisations, but also includes policymakers, society, among others. Youth and NGO/CSO representatives co-produced a regionally focused 10-minute documentary/film consolidating the discussed issues. At the end of the project, there was consensus that Southern Africa needs to rethink a Sustainable Youth Development Agenda which can be achieved through the creation of a Regional Youth Development Network that brings to partnership all interested stakeholders.
