Kurauone Masungo is a PhD student at the University of the Free State. His PhD research investigates HE student well-being and agency in the fight for epistemic justice and a more robust democracy. His main focus is on student’s participation, voices and experiences in their own social media-based activism. He holds a Master of Science in Media and Society Studies from the Midlands State University. He has worked with the Media Institute of Southern Africa Zimbabwe Chapter as a media researcher. During his consultancy work at MISA, he conducted focus group discussions with various communities and stakeholders from which a report on Communities Access to Media in Rural and peri-Urban Areas in Manicaland, Masvingo and Mashonaland province, was published by MISA. He has also worked as a teacher in Zimbabwe.
