1st Water–Gender–Social Vulnerability Symposium
Hosted by the UFS Centre for Global Change 2–3 July 2026
This inaugural symposium brings together academics, practitioners, and community voices to explore how water scarcity intersects with gender and social vulnerability. Over two days, participants will engage in keynote addresses, oral presentations, and panel discussions that highlight lived experiences, research findings, and innovative solutions. From the challenges faced by women in rural communities to the broader implications of water insecurity for health, governance, and social unrest, the programme reflects the Centre for Global Change’s commitment to dialogue that is both locally grounded and globally relevant. The symposium aims to foster collaboration, deepen understanding, and inspire pathways toward resilience, justice, and inclusive development.
