What does Social Work Services do?

The main purpose of the social worker on campus is to promote, restore, maintain and enhance the functioning of students by enabling them to accomplish tasks, prevent and alleviate distress and use resources effectively to create an academic climate that facilitates learning.

Services are focused on protecting people who are vulnerable, at-risk and unable to protect themselves. This is done by planning and implementing appropriate social work intervention strategies and techniques at Micro, Mezzo and Macro levels.

Some of these interventions include programs focusing on personal problems such as;

  • relationship issues,
  • financial problems,
  • abortion,
  • sexual molestation,
  • rape and alcohol and drug abuse.

First year students are orientated toward campus life and the problems that they might encounter in their day to day life. Prevention programmes that are currently running focus on the improvement of life skills and are developed and implemented by a multi-professional team.

Students always appreciate an extra income, contact us for part time work, it will give you the opportunity to gain practical experience while studying.
