Students at the University of the Free State (UFS) will be registering online for their studies in 2022, with senior students being able to register from 17 to 31 January 2022.  

As in 2021, the 2022 registration process will be fully online. This allows the institution to continue embracing technology while upholding COVID-19 regulations and protocol and keeping its staff and students safe. The university will not allow walk-in applicants, as the deadline for applications for admission has expired.

When to register?

Online registration and academic advising will start on 10 January 2022 for senior students in the Faculty of Health Sciences. All other senior students will start registering from 17 Janaury to 11 February 2022. For first-year students, online registration and academic advising will take place from 1 to 11 February 2022

UFS COVID-19 Regulations and Required Vaccination Policy

As from 14 February 2022, all staff/registered students/visitors who enter the university’s three campuses will be required to be vaccinated. From this date, all staff/registered students/visitors should be vaccinated, upload a negative SARS (COVID-19) PCR test to the UFS system on a weekly basis, or have an approved exemption from the Vaccination Exemption Committee in order to access campus.

In support of the UFS COVID-19 Regulations and Required Vaccination Policy, a new campus access system has been activated as from 9 December 2021. The online facility where staff and registered students must upload their vaccination certificates, or obtain and upload an application for exemption form, is available here.
