Dr Welby V Loury Okoumba is a senior lecturer at the University of the Free State in the Department of Business Management. I have been actively engaged in teaching and learning activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, facilitating subjects such as Business Management, Entrepreneurship Management, Logistics Management and Purchasing/Procurement Management at undergraduate level (third-year level). At Postgraduate level, I have been lecturing several modules namely, Advanced and Strategic Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management and Strategic Management (Advanced and Postgraduate Diploma as well as Honours levels).

Furthermore, my teaching and learning approach empowers students to become critical problem-solvers. It is achieved by emphasising the application of theories and other concepts taught and discussed during sessions. This teaching approach is vital in ensuring students become more accustomed to critiquing and solving operational problems and practical cases required in the corporate environment.

As a researcher, I have been actively involved in research activities from the supervision of master`s and doctoral studies to the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles and attendance at academic conferences.

I have published in peer-reviewed accredited journals such as the Logistics Forum (LogForum), the Africa Journal of Management (AJM), the South African Journal of Economics and Management Sciences (SAJEMS), Southern African Business Review (SABR) and Journal of Transport & Supply Chain Management (JTSCM).

Notwithstanding the attendance of local and international conferences such as the Social Sciences International Research Conference (SSIRC) Southern African Institute of Management Scientists (SAIMS) and the 19^th Annual International Conference of the Global Business and Technology Association (GBATA). My research interests are confined to the field of supply chain management and business management and performance.
