Short CV

Moorosi holds a PhD in Development Studies from University of South Africa (UNISA), a Masters degree in Public Policy Management from Wits University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Psychology from University of Cape Town I am currently a lecturer of Africa Studies at the Centre for Gender and Africa Studies (CGAS), University of the Free State.

My research interests and niche areas are; political philosophy termed ‘Sankarism’, Pan Africanism, pre-colonial African history, Afrocentricity, Endogenous Development, and Regionalism.

-Most of my professional expertise evolves around academic research in the social sciences which is multi-inter-trans (MIT) disciplinary, that is, cutting across at least three disciplines.

Those being political sciences, governance and policy studies, and development studies.

- I also have over seven years lecturing experience acquired at the University of South Africa (UNISA), University of Johannesburg, and at the University of the Free State.
- To date, I have thirteen published academic peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters. I am currently working on a book Manuscript of Thomas Sankara`s political thought and praxis and what we can learn from it for contemporary Africa.
- I have extensive experience in preparing, compiling and presenting research reports and in quality assurance of reports and research papers, spanning over 7 years.
- Three years supervision and examination experience of postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level in South Africa and elsewhere.

I am recently turning my research focus more towards the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Pan African Lingua Franca (linguistic) research on Kiswahili, and on the resurgence of military coups in Africa.
