The module focuses on the development of Southern African performing arts history (film and theatre), early cinema history, and theatre practices during the Restoration period to Modern Theatre.

Drama and Performance Studies 2 (28 credits) - DRAT2707

Students are exposed to dramaturgical and theatrical text analysis, Cinema of Attraction, theatre for young audiences and puppet theatre, Southern African theatre theory, and the theory of acting identified by Stanislavski.

Performance Practice 2 (24 credits)THEP2606

The module focuses on acting in a production(s), an audition program, movement and radio training. Admission to the third-year module, THEP3700, is subject to a selection process.

Technical Management and Scenography 2 (20 credits)THET2605

The module focuses on the intermediate level of technical aspects of the performing arts, theoretically and practically, in décor/scenery, props, lighting, sound, costumes, theatre safety and stage management.

 NOTE: The second year major and compulsory modules are prerequisites to advance to third year level.

Continue second year level with the same subject chosen in the first year
