"Hansel and Gretel" is a well-known fairy tale of German origin, recorded by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812.  It has been adapted for the stage by JP du Plessis and translated by Peter Taljaard, Gerben Kamper and Marijda Kamper.

Hansel and Gretel are the young children of a poor woodcutter.

The woodcutter's second, abusive wife decides to take the children into the woods and leave them there to fend for themselves, so that she and her husband will not starve to death, because the children eat too much.

Deep in the forest Hansel and Gretel are threatened by a witch living in a house constructed of cake and candy.

Can the children outwit the nasty witch to save their lives?

Filled with song and dance, “Hansel and Gretel” promises to be great entertainment for children aged between 5 and 10 and everybody with a child’s imagination.

Hansel and Gretel can’t wait to meet you all!!!!
