1. What impact has GradStar had on your life in 2020?
GradStar has given me a great experience, inspiration, and limitless opportunities. It has given me the courage to live outside my comfort zone. It was truly a good journey; I got to meet students from different universities across South Africa and learned to work together during the inconvenient period of the pandemic. I am privileged to have met top employers across South Africa who have given me a platform of what to expect in the working industry, hope to keep striving through hard times, to adapt to the new normal (during the COVID-19 period), and to stay focused.
2. How do you stay motivated and on track with your studies?
The support I am getting from my family. At the begin of each year, I always set goals to meet; I have a timetable that I adhere to, so that I can meet deadlines for assignments on time, as well as other school-related activities.
3. What drives you to excel in your studies?
Napoleon Hill once said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.” With a great attitude and correct mindset, you can do anything. I always embrace little achievements, since they are the stepping-stones to greater things. I always see a new day as an opportunity to learn, develop, and grow. As a person who sets daily goals, achieving them brings great success to my studies.
4. Will you recommend GradStar to other students? Why/Why not?
Yes, I believe that what I have learned can be beneficial to someone else. It’s for anyone who is willing to learn and grow. Being connected with top employers across South Africa is a lifetime experience.
5. What are your plans for 2020?
As I am doing my honours this year, I am looking forward to being employed next year, to work towards achieving my long-term goals, and to propose to my girlfriend.
