1. What impact has GradStar had on your life?
Firstly, it is with immense gratitude that I thank GradStar for allowing me this life-changing opportunity. Frankly, being part of this exciting and educational experience has opened a new window of incredible possibilities. I applaud the vision of GradStar, which identifies current young graduates and students by moulding them into successful entrepreneurs and leaders of tomorrow. GradStar has had a positive impact on my life. It taught me to be more self-reliant, optimistic, and to gain confidence. It is a platform that equipped me with different skills, such as public speaking, and how to interact with people I hardly know while forming lasting relationships.
2. How do you stay motivated and on track with your studies?
I usually set goals and design a plan on how to achieve them, and the motivation starts from within. I always try to remain focused on what I need to achieve. I maintain positivity all the time, because whatever goal I set, I make a great effort to attain it. Something I avoid is procrastination, as it is the thief of time. Once I set my mind on something, I work hard but smart to achieve it.
3. What drives you to excel in your studies?
I was once taught to starve my distractions if I want to become a success; I dearly held on to that lesson and it always works for me. My academics come first. The background I come from also makes me always strive for success. Nelson Mandela said the only weapon that can destroy poverty is education. I always create mental pictures of myself being a success; that’s one thing that keeps me motivated. Optimism is the foundation of progress.
4. Will you recommend GradStar to other students’? Why/Why not?
I would definitely recommend GradStar, as it has opened my mind and broadened my knowledge. As a young graduate, I was not sure about future employment prospects; however, the platform made me optimistic. GradStar showed me that there are many opportunities and that everything is possible through self-assurance, leadership, and strength.
5. What are your plans for 2020?
Completely, my honours degree is my priority for 2020. I also want to start working in a good company that will evoke the potential in me – and exercise my entrepreneurial side more.
