Linda Sparks is a junior lecturer at the Unit for Language Development (ULD). She is the coordinator of academic literacy subjects on South Campus, Qwaqwa Campus and in the Regions (Welkom, Bethlehem, Sasolburg and Oudtshoorn). Linda is responsible for all administrative and academic functions in these areas. In addition, she assists with quality control, training of facilitators and editing and proofreading of important documentation in the ULD. She received her master’s degree in 2009 and also began facilitating on the academic literacy programme in the same year. Her major interest lies in assisting students to achieve to the best of their abilities by helping them gain insight into academic reading and writing.
