Tshepiso Motolo grew up in Sebokeng (Gauteng Province) and matriculated from General Smuts High School in Vereeniging. She obtained her BSc. Zoology, BSc. Hons Entomology and MSc Entomology (cum laude) degrees from the University of the Free State. She is currently doing her PhD in Forensic Entomology and has graduated five honours students.
