Monique Schoeman obtained a BA degree majoring in Psychology, English and South African Sign Language, a BA Honours in Psychology and a BA Honours in English, all from the UFS. She is currently busy with a master’s degree in Higher Education Studies, also at the UFS.
Monique’s experience in teaching and learning over the past seven (7) years includes lecturing, facilitating, coordinating tutors and tutoring (including online tutoring) in the fields of Psychology, English and South African Sign Language. In addition, she has worked in an administrative capacity at several divisions in the UFS and in private companies.
Monique has been serving as an academic advisor at CTL since 2014. Her main duties include advising students from the Faculty of the Humanities, liaising between the Academic Advising Office and the Faculty of the Humanities, and co-managing the social media platform and learning management system of this office. Furthermore, she is responsible for research in integrating career advising into academic advising and collaboration efforts between the P3 Mentor programme and the Academic Advising Office. In addition to these responsibilities, she assists in the development and implementation of various academic advising initiatives and is tasked with creating the evaluations of these initiatives for research purposes.
