Admission requirements for undergraduate programmes
All undergraduate music programmes are selection programmes requiring applicants to audition. Applicants will have to perform works within the Western Art Music (Classical Music) genre.
Admission to undergraduate programmes will be granted following a successful audition and obtaining the minimum admission point (AP) score required by the UFS in the final matric examinations. The AP score for the Advanced Diploma in Opera Studies and the Advanced Diploma in Music is not applicable as these require a Diploma in Music (or equivalent qualification). Additionally, for the Diploma in Music, Bachelor of Arts in Music and Bachelor of Music, proof of music theory knowledge is required. Detailed information is available in the Rulebook of the Faculty of the Humanities.
