Who they are:
The Bothobapelo Foraging and Wildcrafting initiative is rooted in traditional knowledge that reconnects people to the earth through the harvesting and preparation of indigenous veld foods and medicinal plants. Often based at the Bothobapelo Country Lodge, it offers immersive experiences that reclaim access to seasonal and ancestral wild foods. Participants engage in hands‑on learning, discovering how to identify, forage, and cook indigenous ingredients such as dipabi, dikgobe, boha, koro, and tshohlo.

Services offered:
The initiative extends its reach and conducts training sessions during the Community Engagement Festival, creating opportunities for communities to rediscover their cultural food heritage while strengthening awareness of sustainable practices.
