Who they are:
The Kidz Care Trust in Bloemfontein is a registered non‑profit organisation dedicated to holistic child development, community outreach, and child safety. Unlike conventional daycare or preschool facilities, it operates as a multi‑faceted centre supporting vulnerable and street‑connected children. Its primary services include a Drop‑in Centre programme, which provides food, hygiene, and homework support, and a Child and Youth Care Centre, offering structured residential and developmental care to help children reach their full potential.

Services offered:
The UFS maintains a long‑standing, multi‑departmental partnership with Kidz Care Trust through its Service‑Learning and Community Engagement divisions. Rather than a single programme, multiple faculties collaborate with the trust to support vulnerable youth, combining academic expertise with practical outreach. This partnership situates engaged scholarship within the realities of child vulnerability, resilience, and empowerment, ensuring that students contribute meaningfully to social transformation in Bloemfontein.
