SANCA Aurora Addiction Recovery Centre

Who they are:
The Aurora Addiction Recovery Centre in Bloemfontein is a long‑standing non‑profit organisation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders through holistic, evidence‑based care. Established in 1966, the centre provides adult and youth rehabilitation programmes, including inpatient and outpatient treatment, detoxification, therapy, and structured aftercare support. Its multidisciplinary approach integrates medical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of recovery, while also offering training and awareness initiatives for professionals and the broader community.

Services offered:
As a site for engaged scholarship, Aurora offers pastoral care students a critical context for exploring addiction, recovery, relapse, and restoration within complex personal and relational ecologies. It fosters competencies in accompaniment, non‑judgemental presence, and spiritually integrated therapeutic care, making it a significant partner for the Department of Practical and Missional Theology through TPPC7916 MTh Pastoral Care.
