Who they are:
The Team Spirit Drop‑in Centre provides a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable children while advancing community initiatives that promote resilience and opportunity. With a focus on gender‑based violence and femicide (GBVF) awareness, early childhood development (ECD), and creative learning activities such as spelling bee competitions, the centre nurtures both protection and growth.

Service offered:
In alignment with this mission, Community Development final‑year students contribute through Work Integrated Learning (WIL), applying their academic knowledge to real‑world challenges and strengthening the centre’s impact. The centre also collaborates with the Community Engagement (CE) office at the University of the Free State (UFS) to host spelling bee competitions for high schools, creating opportunities for learners to build confidence, sharpen skills, and celebrate achievement.
