Annamarie Otto obtained a BEd (Preschool and Foundation Phase cum laude from the UFS in 2010 and a BEd Honours in Professional Psychology of Education in Support Teaching in 2011 cum laude. She was awarded Golden Key membership from 2008–2012. Annamarie was also awarded the best technology student in 2010 by her department.

After graduation, Annamarie began her career as student assistant in the Department of Technology. That eventually led to a two-year part-time junior lecturer position at the Department of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (2012–2014). She also took on a part-time position in 2014 as an academic English facilitator in the Unit for Academic Literacy.

Currently, Annamarie is an officer at the CTL in the Unit for Language Development, where she provides administrative and logistical support for the ULD on the Bloemfontein Campus. The ULD comprises a student body of 4 000 students, 60 facilitators and seven staff members.
