Beginner's Courses

We offer beginner's courses in association with Free State Fencing and the Free State Amateur Fencing Club (Vrystaat Amateur-Skermklub – VASK). We focus on two weapons: Epee and Sabre. The beginners start with a course in Epee and can then later progress to Sabre. These courses are presented twice during each semester.

After you have completed the beginner's course, you can join us at practice in the basement of the Callie Human Centre.

For more information, please contact Mariet Schroder (the organiser of the course).

Friday Fencing League

We have an Open League each Friday afternoon from 16:30 in the basement of the Callie Human Hall. Any fencer of any skills level can enter in either Epee or Sabre. This is a mixed competition where men and women of all ages can test their skills against each other. Spectators are welcome! .

Practice times

Practice is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 18:00 onward. Individual lessons can be scheduled with Coach Gunter Schroder.
