Threat Detection Investigations Compliance and Liaison: Identify Threats

Threats

UFS Protection Services is responsible for identifying and assessing security risks and threats that can impact the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors. This involves conducting regular security risk assessments, issuing early warnings, and responding to emergencies.

Protection Services personnel are trained to investigate incidents, both on and off campus, and work closely with the South African Police Service (SAPS) to ensure a coordinated response to any threats.

All incidents of crime, whether they concern private or university property, must be reported. Cases are investigated internally and must also be reported to the SAPS.

The UFS has a threat detection capacity on all three campuses to provide pro-active information of planned activities.
