Threat Detection Investigations Compliance and Liaison: Liaison with SAPS, CPF, and Private Security

police

UFS Protection Services collaborates with the SAPS, community policing forums (CPFs), and private security companies to improve safety and security on its campuses. This partnership includes the following aspects:

  • SAPS: Protection Services works closely with SAPS to investigate crimes, conduct joint patrols, and share information on security threats. This collaboration ensures a coordinated response to incidents and improves overall campus safety.
  • Community policing forums (CPFs): By engaging with local CPFs, Protection Services encourages community involvement in campus safety. These forums facilitate dialogue between the university, police, and the community to address safety concerns and implement preventive measures.
  • Private security companies: Protection Services partners with private security firms to provide additional security personnel and resources. These companies assist in patrolling, surveillance, and emergency response, ensuring comprehensive coverage and rapid intervention when needed.

UFS Protection Services also collaborates with these entities, working on initiatives such as safety awareness campaigns, real-time incident reporting through Crime Stop WhatsApp groups, and visible patrols during critical times such as examinations when it comes to off-campus security.
