“The UFS is currently developing VISION 130 to take us to the year 2034 (when the UFS will be 130 years old). This strategic plan will retain the current vision of the UFS – to be a research-led, student-centred, and regionally engaged university that contributes to development and social justice through the production of globally competitive graduates and knowledge. However, the focus will be on visibility and impact, framed by the Sustainable Development Goals. There will be greater emphasis on being ‘research-led’ and how we structure our research agenda, making it globally, nationally, and regionally relevant.” – Prof Francis Petersen
