SCOPE OF INFORMATION


Short Description of the SLP: The SLP is developed to include both theoretical and practical aspects.  
The aim of the theoretical aspects is to create understanding of the Deaf World which includes, amongst others, the categories and causes of deafness, deaf culture and deaf education.  
The practical part of the programme focus on the acquisition of basic SASL to enable the participant to have the ability to have a basic conversation with a deaf person. This part of the programme included basic communication skills, but specific terminology, determined by the client, is added and discussed.
Admission Requirements: Grade 12 
Computer literate, especially when the teaching takes place on-line
