What is it? The purpose of the Online Assessment team is to support and consult with academic staff in the design and development of their innovative online assessments.

Why is it important? The team is important in advancing assessment innovation at UFS by promoting fair, valid, and reliable online assessments aligned with the institutional assessment policies and quality standards. It supports faculties in transitioning to blended and digital assessment practices, ensuring accessibility and alignment with curriculum renewal and potential digital-transformation goals.

How is it implemented? Focusing mainly on assessments that on the Cirrus assessment platform, we work collaboratively with faculties to support assessment creation, from planning and design to delivery and evaluation. We assist academic and academic support staff in creating online assessments, scheduling students to write their assessments, and troubleshooting and handling queries during the assessment period. We also provide training in the design and development of objective assessments, recommendations on best practices for using online assessments, and training for academics and students on how to use the assessment platform independently.

The online assessment team supports large-scale and high-stakes assessments, contributes to assessment quality assurance processes, and provides ongoing technical and pedagogical support to academic staff.
